Beautiful things Friday

With my daughter #1 soon to turn 12, she is desperate to update her room to a "young girls" room. So for inspiration I turned to pininterest & discovered some rather amazing bedroom fit outs.

These aren't the look my daughter is looking for, but very creative different designs:-

My girls would love to have beds like this when they were younger, dreaming that they were fairies..

Naturally I was drawn to this with patchwork quilt. Love all the vintage furniture.

Love the contrast and the letters on the wall. Gorgeous textiles with texture.

How sweet is this cupboard armoire?

Glamorous... pretty chandelier & large scale wallpaper.

Have a fabulous weekend ahead:)

To market we go

Off to the Markets we went on Saturday...it was a great experience.

I really enjoyed meeting so many talented local artists showing their beautiful creative work off. The markets specialised in quality unique babies & kids lines. Lots of clothes; hats and artwork were on display.

I was really nervous prior to going, as with hand made products produced by yourself it is so personal and you don't know how the public will respond to your range. We were warmly welcomed by customers & received so many lovely comments on "Cheeky Charley Designs" and how beautifully made the quilts & cushions were. We walked away with a couple of bespoke quilt orders - so I'm happy.

My two gorgeous daughters came along to help out for the day. Unfortunately daughter #1, suddenly came down with some rather violent bug & after a public vomit (which she was & still is completely mortified that it occurred in public) my husband had to quickly race over and take her home to recover.

After my first market I came away learning allot. I learnt that some products we took are not suited to the market clientele & the need for some other new lines are required for this target market.

I will return to market again in late October, hopefully daughter #1 will have overcome her little embarrassment & will join me!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend:)

Pirates Party..

As promised here are some photo's from the recent "Pirate" madness 5year old party.

With 14 little pirates running around the backyard, walking the plank and swabbing the deck...it was crazy, loud & loads of fun.

My two older girls were of tremendous help, with myself not feeling 100% I simply couldn't have pulled it off with out them, I do thank them for the amazing assistance they gave to me and helping out with co-ordinating the games & guiding all these little pirates.

I had so many of the parents compliment us on how fabulous the party was & particularly on how supportive and patient the girls were. Very proud Mumma!!

Here is a snap shot of the pirates party..

My mother is the most incredible cake maker...she creates these outrageously amazing cakes to match whatever theme her grandchild parties are. The cake was a Huge hit. Thanks Mum.

My little man was extremely happy with his first real party with his little mates!

Little Miss Cheeky didn't miss out on the fun, she sat quietly devouring her first chocolate crackle!

Market day...

Even though I haven't had chance to blog much of recent, I have kept busy in the sewing room, busily creating quilts; cushions & bunting.
I'm excited & have a touch of nerves, as I will be attending my first market this Saturday showing casing "Cheeky Charley Designs".
I will be at the Mathilda Markets in Brisbane this weekend. It's a huge market specialising in unique, stylish, handmade beautiful stuff all for kids.

Here's some pictures of projects in working progress:-

The remainder of the week will be spent finishing off projects & getting all goodies packed up and ready for Saturday morning.

Have you got any big plans for the week?
